My version of “What is Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu?”

July 5, 2010 by soke

My first attempt at a Bujinkan Video, with clips of Soke Hatsumi and assorted Shihan training. THIS VIDEO IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY! NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT WAS INTENDED! Using clips from different sources and a laid back song, I decided early this morning to put together this video. Hope you all enjoy. The song is “One Moment” by John Dee Graham.

If I was you, which I’m not, I would quit studying bujinkan. It’s a total waste of money. Try using it in a real fight and you’d get your ass handed to you… especially if you went against another guy that knows how to fight. You know the Japanese guy that fought in UFC? That guy is from Japan and he doesn’t even study Bujinkan because he knows it’s full of shit.

This was at the beginning of my video making career. LOL yes I watch many of these now that I made and I’m like wow, it could’ve been better.

I like this video, there aint alot of videos about this out there that actually shows what we do, thank you for your efforts and btw…

    love your name xD

i mean seriously, how long did this take? writing and proofreading all this crap?

you had to be that annoying kinda dumb kid in high school who studied all day and had his term papers bound at a local print shop…just for the professional effect. i hated you then…i hate you now. stop trying so hard you weirdo…this is youtube.

let me get this strait apryor

you just filled the entire front 10 posts with maxed comments…there could be more, im not checking because i realize this isn’t a serious debate forum.

you PROOFREAD you fucking youtube posts

you are still bitching that this is a bad forum for debate, yet you continue to post here like a maniac

and you STILL don’t realize why all of this is SILLY.

i hope no one reads this novel you’ve created, i know i won’t. you has some issues man..

Another reason is that there seems to be a problem with Youtube rendering text correctly. I do proof read what I write but many characters do not show up once posted causing typos, unless it is being caused by a virus I’m having problems with.

  7. apryor2006 says:

I already do quite frequently. That’s whyI suggested it because it is a better forum for doing this. Another reason is because half of these posts don’t even show in their correct order and so they seem out of contet when read. As a student progresses in their training the teachings get more conceptual (vague) and less mechanical. If you aresomeone who has seriously trained and not just dabbled in arts then I wouldn’t have to explain this.

  8. apryor2006 says:

Are you on drugs or mentally challenged? You say it won’t work because you haven’t seen them actually kill someone in a video? Get a life! As far as evidence look for old news footage of Mike Tyson being escorted to jail. The officer escorting him had been training with the Bujinkan. Ichallenge you to show the same thing from ANY martial art. There are no live action videos from people who actually use any art. These things wouldn’t be available for the general public to see.

  9. apryor2006 says:

That was the last time he showed up at our school. My suggestion is that you go to Japan and tell Hatsumi or any of the Shihans that they are frauds. Then come back and tell me how long you lasted.

  10. apryor2006 says:

We had a student in our school who did various martial arts and boxing. He never did wat he wa asked in class, hurt students and complained when they hit back. Finally, my co-instructor asked him to demonstrate. He thru a hook, instructor steped inside, smaked his neck and thru him to the ground by it. Then didthe same thing to the inside of his thigh from a kick. Then grabbed his arm pits and threwhim to th ground from a bear hug. By this time the kid was in tears.

  11. apryor2006 says:

You can look at any martial art system and see practitioners who are all the things you describe. Many types of people take martial arts for many reasons. Not all want to be Bruce Lee. I’m sure you currently train with the same type of people. My instructor used to complain about the students like that in our school. told him so what, they are getting what they want and paying our bills. There financial support pays for us to bring in top ranking instructors for those who are serious.

  12. apryor2006 says:

In fact, Stephen Hayes has publicly criticized other art’s teaching tactics for not allowing students to question instructors and making them do push-ups or other “punishments” for asking questions.

  13. apryor2006 says:

They should be very open to questioning , thats my main “problem” with these people.
That is way off track. They promote you to question them. In front of about 100 students from around the world, I (having a low rank) questioned something Stephen Hayes was teaching. Not only did he answer my question but he praised me for being the only one to question the validiy of the technique.

  14. apryor2006 says:

Can you provide evidence of this because I have never heard of Hatsumi say this? In fact, if you were to ever go and train in Japan it is quite the opposite. He is obviously given elevated status by the resident of Noda-shi and the other master instructors at the various budokans around Tokyo. He was also retraining the Japanese polic force when I as there because they were getting killed on the streets when trying Judo and Aikido techniques in knife fights.

  15. apryor2006 says:

Sorry, But I’m going to have to question what you learned in 10 years. Why? Because the Bujinkan also teaches about the culture that the art was born and bread from. In that culture’s language it is considered extremely arrogant, laughable and a complete misuse of the term to refer to yourself as Sensei. Doing so makes you look eiher very uninformed or a complete tool bag… you pick it!

    apryor

its silly to recruit people from youtube for a facebook discussion when plenty of martial arts forums already serve this function. if you want a more serious arena for debate, why aren’t you going to a martial arts forum? they don’t have strict character limits.

and what makes you think the subject is so vague? or are your comments so brilliant they require pages to explain.

HEY EVERYONE! HEAD TO FACEBOOK AND CHECK OUT APRYORS BRILLIANT BUJINKAN PROFESSIONS!!!

I’m not saying your wrong but I could not findyour claims on his website. What it does say is: He assisted in the creation of the US Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) and remains a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Program.

Martial Arts Instructor – MCRD (Special Services), San Diego, CA, 1981-1985

Marine Corps Martial Arts Black Belt Emeritus.

  18. apryor2006 says:

I trained in Ninpo Taijutsu for close to 20 years and wonder why I have a bum anckle, bad knees, a neck and shoulder injury a dislocated hip, and a bad wrist and right hand if it was all done with compliant training. Many of the students in Ninpo have had significant training in other arts, myself included. Do you think that none of them would be able to see it’s faults if it was all bull? Come on, get real!

  19. apryor2006 says:

What is also silly is someone who claims to have trained in an art for 10 years but obviously knows nothing about what he is talking about. If he is so sharp then why did it take him 10 years to figureout he was being duped? For the record, the bujinkan does not only train using exagerated punches. Those movements are used when referring to historical tactics or to demonstrate techniques to lower level students so that they have a baseline from which to begin training in a specific technique.

  20. apryor2006 says:

That’s my poin… it masy be required here on Youtube but not in a ral in depth discussion. It is not silly to suggest that a conversation be moved to a forum that is more condusive to in depth conversation. There are a lot of posts here dating back 1 year. To sum that up in 500 characters or less is silly. Especially when talking about something as vague as higher level martial arts concepts. If you can’t see this then we’ll have to agree to disagree.

  21. nicerebound says:

i didn’t say you weren’t being clear because you have that down quite well

to be concise requires brevity of statement…conveying meaning with few words

    its required here on youtube

any dedicated martial art forum will provide the type of discussion you seek

recruiting people to facebook is kinda silly

  22. apryor2006 says:

What do you mean I’m not concise? I think I’m being very clear. I find a 500 charcater limit annoying and am asking if anyone is interested in moving this discussion to another format likeFacebook where there is no 500 character limit. What’s not clear about that?

  23. nicerebound says:

to be fair, you aren’t very concise

  24. apryor2006 says:

Having trained in the Bujinkan for many years, I can understand some of the complaints voiced here. However, they are misguided and often incorrect. Unfortunately, the character limit here is too restricting to get points across about concepts that are often vague. Anyone want to discuss this thru another venue (like Facebook)?

omg slapper up to your old tricks again here as well? grow up
