@chavalote funny thing is when ever people who where watching our training say that my teacher would ask them to attack him at full strength…. they always laned up getting hurt, and they never said we where acting again….. go to a training session yourself and see for yourself what it feels like before commenting please.
It could be aimed at the pressure point but while all the attackers weight is on the back leg you would attack the knee to really injure him. Attacking either side of the knee with a powerful kick will really do the damage, it is harder to injure someone long term by merely hyper extending his knee.
You will also notice that the defendant uses his second hand to grasp the leg and further push the attacker off balance.
I hope this clears up the misunderstanding you had.
This is accompanied by the lead hand grasping the leg, or at the very least should prevent the attacker putting it down again. The attacker is then off balance.
The defender then brings his back leg through and kicks in the same way, a through kick more like a push, behind the attackers knee and downwards, collapsing the leg, whilst simultaniously continuing to move forward carrying the raised leg with him and putting the attacker onto his ‘third point’, the point at which you are off balance.
*sigh* ok I’ll walk you through it.
The kick is performed like a standard Bujinkan kick, with the aim to ‘push’ the other person away, carry it out with sufficient speed and the force away from you and down will push most people over.
To counter a kick as with all counters you first move out of the line by stepping at 45degrees, in this case the step was inside the leg and towards the assailant.
I said “sweep” because english is not my language, I mean he doesn’t “kick” with the suficient speed and power to make the other guy fall like that. In other words, the other guy is acting, and falling by himself.
i dont know were you saw a sweep but that was a kick to a pressure point at above your knee and if you saw he pushed his leg up witch threw him off balance
Why the other guy fall by himself to the ground?
That sweep technique would not be efective made like that. You have to sweep properly. But Hatsumi didn’t sweep properly because he knew the dude in grey clothes will fall by himself.

Simple and effective.

What sweep? Are you even watching the video?!
As Bujinkan student I can tell you that he kicked him in the inner knee to collapse his leg…fool.
Why the other guy fall by himself to the ground?

This is total BULLSHIT.
