Soke Hatsumi -This 3 day live instructor training is all about using the whole body to strike and disable opponents. Hidden or unexpected ways of using weapons such as throwing your weapon at the attacker or using metsubishi techniques to attack the eyes are demonstrated. Several 5th dan tests are shown. Many weapons were used in the application of the waza – especially the innovative uses of sword, saya, and seago in attacks and defenses which are highlighted on the 3rd day.

World class Bujinkan instructors attended to learn Soke Hatsumi?s magic of taijutsu and expanded life through Naginata (long bladed staff) and Daishosabaki (sword disarm counters). Having to move with a long range weapon challenges the taijutsu of even the best practitioner and makes them better. This was a thrilling, dynamic Tai Kai sure to improve the way you move!

“BUDO OF LIFE” – Juppo Sessho the theme of this event as presented here has many meanings, including the ten (or infinite) ways/principles of negotiation, but it can also mean to kill or to give life. Budo Taijutsu Juppo Sessho is understanding all the possible relationships that happen or could happen in a given exchange, and moving past the formal technique (waza) to apply the most natural and unexpected movements to wrap up your opponent. The wazas of Takagi Yoshin Ryu were explored at at the 2002 annual international training event where Senior Bujinkan instructors, and students from around the world gathered to learn from Soke Hatsumi. Soke Hatsumi always amazes his students at all levels with his natural approach to Budo.

Soke Hatsumi shares Kukishinden Ryu At this 3 day international event in Tokyo, Japan Soke Hatsumi went through a vast amount of wazas (forms) by having a shihan instructor teach them as a traditional form and then Soke continued to take each movement of the form into many variations so a deeper understanding could be learned. Many times weapons such as a long rope, gun, knife, sword, or yari plus multiple attackers were used in the application of the waza.
